Cape Lefkatas

splendid views • ideal spot for photography

Cape Lefkatas marks the southernmost point of Lefkada, where towering white cliffs meet the deep blue Ionian Sea. The vast open views, powerful winds, and dramatic landscape create one of the island’s most striking natural sights. It is an ideal spot for photography, quiet contemplation, and watching unforgettable sunsets over the horizon.

Sappho & the White Cliffs

According to ancient tradition, Sappho, the renowned lyric poet from Lesbos (c. 630–570 BC), is closely associated with Cape Lefkatas.
Legend says that she leapt from these cliffs into the sea, believing the fall would free her from unreturned love and emotional pain.

Because of this myth, Cape Lefkatas became known in antiquity as the “Leap of Love”, a symbolic place connected with passion, purification, and release.
